Kunsthalle Praha is a new art space on Prague's cultural map with a dynamic exhibition programme of Czech and international modern and contemporary art. Visitors can enjoy three gallery spaces, a design shop, a bistro and the Kunsthalle Café with a terrace featuring charming views of Petřín Hill and Prague Castle.

  • Visit the Design Shop and Book Lounge, offering exhibition publications, design products and limited-edition art prints.
  • Kunsthalle Praha is largely wheelchair accessible. Please note that the Tower and Box exhibition spaces are not accessible for visitors with reduced mobility.

Opened in 2022 and located in the former Zenger Transformer Station in the historical centre of Prague, Kunsthalle Praha’s mission is to support artistic discovery and to bring the experience of art of the 20th and 21st centuries to the widest possible audience. The conversion of the Kunsthalle’s building has been awarded a number of prizes, including the prestigious Architects’ Grand Prix national award for 2022.

Since opening to the public in 2022, Kunsthalle Praha has held a number of major exhibitions of modern and contemporary art including Kinetismus: 100 Years of Electricity in Art (February – August 2022), guest curated by Peter Weibel, Gregor Hildebrandt: A Blink of an Eye and the Years are Behind Us (September 2022 – February 2023), the artist’s largest exhibition to date, and Bohemia: History of an Idea, 1950-2000 (March – October 2023), guest curated by the California-based Russell Ferguson.

Kunsthalle Bistro
When hungry after visiting the Prague Castle and descending the Old Castle Steps, the Kunsthalle Bistro is the fastest and most convenient option to get a delicious snack or a good quality three-course meal!

Kunsthalle Café
In addition to enjoying a delicious cup of coffee or a glass of wine, you can round off your exhibition visit with two terraces. From the historical one, savour the view of Petřín Hill or Prague Castle. From the contemporary Zenger Colonnade, observe the green hills of Letná Park.

Kunsthalle Design Shop
First and foremost, the art space supports the craft & talent of local designers. There are fine exhibition catalogues, exclusive limited-edition prints from exhibiting artists, or books that boost the imagination & creativity in children and adults alike.

Children-friendly Art Spaces
Come and show your children that culture and art are worth spending time with in spaces such as the Kidshalle, Artlab and The Tower!
