MUSEUM OF ALCHEMISTS OF OLD PRAGUE

The museum is housed in the building on Jánský vršek, just a few steps from Nerudova street, which was formerly the location of Vinárna U Magistra Kellyho (Master Kelly’s Wine-bar). The exhibition focuses on the most famous era of alchemists, the reign of Rudolf II.

The motto of the museum is: Many paths lead to wizardry, but from it only one. This one path, as it seems, is the path which Doctor Faust took from this world – a hole in the ceiling. This, too, can be found in the new exhibition. Apart from a small exhibition on alchemy in Golden Lane, the new museum is the biggest attraction commemorating this fascinating period.
